Programs

UrbanPromise Honduras strives to do more than offer fun activities to children and youth. We work to break cycles of poverty by instilling life-changing truth and hope into each person. To accomplish this, three different programs work together to consistently pour into the lives of community and develop solid leaders who are guided by the principles of Christian faith.

All of our programs provide tutoring, ESL training, recreation, nutritional food, life skill development and teaching on Christian values and issues applicable to the community. In a community that lacks opportunities and resources, each of our programs have a unique focus that address multiple age groups and social status.

UrbanPromise Honduras Programs:

• AfterSchool: This program is open to elementary and Jr. High students from both private and public schools. We meet everyday after classes throughout the entire school year. In addition to the daily activities, the children also participate in special events, field trips, and opportunities for building relationships.
   
• SummerCamp: During the vacation from school classes, Summer Day Camps are offered. Everyday for 4 weeks kids from elementary and Jr. high schools come and participate in a variety of creative, high-energy activities. The children attend classes such as art, cooking, discovery, Bible, or English. They also work together and have a blast playing group games of all types. Summer Camps allow the kids to stay connected to each other in a fun and productive way during their months of vacation.
   
• YouthLeadership: Teenagers from grades 9 to 12 have the opportunity to be leaders in our AfterSchool and SummerCamp programs. This is an amazing way the youth of the community grow to be the visionary leaders UrbanPromise Honduras strives to develop. The teenagers learn the responsibly involved in taking care of others while teaching and organizing a program. In addition to assisting the running of our other two programs, the youth are also offered leadership classes, group events, and fun times to hang out and build relationships.
