Hello UPH blogging world! I am Kristin, a new volunteer with UPH. I have been volunteering with UPH for just under two months so far, and will be here until mid-August. Currently I am volunteering with the Camp Hope afterschool program, as well as with at Genesis School of the Arts where I teach piano. The last few weeks have been a time of adjustment for me. Life in Copan Ruinas has meant adjusting to hearing dogs barking and roosters crowing at the lovely hour of 4am. I have had to adjust to a different understanding of time – in which schedules are generally not set in advance and often change at the last minute. Life in Copan means walking down the steep cobblestone streets to work, looking at the vines of flowers creeping over garden walls while groups of school kids in their uniforms walk past on their way to school. And best of all – every day I get to hang out with beautiful people...
